A Juana Martin Wedding dress with bolero and Dublos nacre ornamental comb

36 Chics   +1 Chic

Juana Martin wedding dress, rosmelia for the wedding bouquet, year 2009 in a church. Dublos ornamental comb.

Designer: Juana Martín
Ornamental comb: Dublos (web)

Wedding date: August 2008
Wedding Place: Church, Cordoba – Spain.
Wedding bouquet : Rosmelia (one big rose)

Bride: Ana, Spain

My dress: “My dress was a custom design by Spanish designer Juana Martín. I wanted an original dress, not feeling like it was a costume, I wanted it to be “very mine”. The base of the dress was a silk “mikado”; the bolero jacket was made with a handcrafted lace, same as in the front part of the dress. The shoes were similar to sandals, made with the same lace as the bolero. With regard to jewelry, I was wearing the engagement ring, a simple one, and the Dublos nacre comb.“

Bride: Deisi Fritz, Brazil
Blog: Un encuentro mágico bajo los últimos rayos de sol

My dress: Yes, it was love at first sight, but before that I had walked all over Barcelona to find what I was looking for. I was not looking for a formal dress, and it wasn’t easy to find a casual dress that looked like a wedding dress. I fell in love with this one for several reasons: for its softness, for its simple elegance, and for its flexibility. it’s so much fun, you can tie the train to the side, on the front or on the back. The straps can also be worn in two different ways: tied back or open. Moreover, the name on the tag is very special: “piel de angel”, angel skin.”

Galina Signature dress in ivory for a wedding in her in-law’s backyard

35 Chics   +1 Chic

Galina signature dress (from David's bridal), Colorful Creations peep-toes, white roses bouquet, year 2008.

Designer: Galina
Shoes: Colorful Creations

Wedding date: September 2008
Wedding Place: In-law’s house, in their backyard
Wedding bouquet : White roses

Bride: Kyle L, USA
Blog: Face candy

My dress: “I found my dress very quickly. My Mom, Grandmother and I went to David’s Bridal and the 4th dress I tried on was “the one.” When I came out of the dressing room in it, we all agreed. It’s a Galina Signature dress in ivory, size 2 and it almost fit me. I was worried I would have a hard time finding a dress that fit me or flattered my body because I am thin and petite, 4′9″. Of course I had to have it altered, but it was done flawlessly at David’s Bridal. I’ve never felt more beautiful.
I bought my shoes online, for $60. They are Colorful Creations Wedding Shoe Shine with 3 1/2″ heels(I wanted to be tall enough to reach my husband to kiss him!). I did my own hair and makeup because I’m picky about that stuff. I’ll say that I never once remembered to touch-up my makeup. There was no time! My hair is short in the back, but I defined my bangs with hair cream and added lots of hairspray. (I actually had trouble getting my veil/hair clip to stay in b/c my hair is so short).”

Veluz dress with a long 3-layered train, for a wedding in Manila

39 Chics   +1 Chic

Veluz dress, fuchsia pink tulips for the wedding bouquet, year 2008, Niko of Veluz shoes, Veluz headpiece and her mom's earrings.

Designer: Veluz
Shoes: Niko of Veluz
Earrings: Her mom’s
Headpiece: Veluz

Wedding date: December 2008
Wedding Place: Catholic church (Manila Cathedral – The Philippines)
Wedding bouquet : Fuchsia pink tulips with swarovski crystal, stems accented with beads and eucalyptus.

Bride: Lorna, Singapore
Blog: Introspection

My dress: “I only had one supplier in mind who will make my bridal gown. It’s Veluz. I love her gowns. I like the intricacies and her signature back accents (ribbons, flowers, etc). When you see a Veluz gown, you’ll easily identify it. She never duplicates the same exact gown. Ms. Veluz did the sketch and I like it instantly. I didn’t negotiate the rate and I didn’t even ask design revision whatsoever. I wanted to have a long train. I wanted to feel like a princess even for a day. Then the train Ms Veluz made for me was simply stunning. It was longer than I expected :D . I heard it was the first time that Ms Veluz made a 3-layered train. And the first that she put a couple’s logo on the train. During our first meeting, Jody showed Ms Veluz our logo and Ms Veluz liked it, took a copy and put it on the train. I so love it.”

Sottero & Midgley wedding dress, red roses for the wedding bouquet, year 2008, sandals.

Designer: Sottero & Midgley

Wedding date: August 2008
Wedding Place: Wedding venue, The Manor in Ontario
Wedding bouquet : Red roses
Photographers: Dave Biesse and Charlotte Leonard

Bride: Angela L, Canada
Blog: Oh she glows

My dress: “I was not one of those brides that tried on a wedding dress and instantly fell in love at first sight! Finding my wedding dress was not easy for me! I must have tried on over 50 gowns and went to about 6 different bridal shops. I wanted to make sure that I would find the perfect dress out there for me! I was a bit discouraged because all of the dresses I tried on tended to be strapless which was not what I wanted. V-necks flatter my shape so much more. Finally I went to a shop called ’Becker’s Bridal‘ and I was instantly in love with this intimate shop. The customer service was outstanding and the lady who helped me brought me this dress right away. I tried on this dress and I just knew it was the one. I couldn’t take the grin off my face! It was everything I was looking for classic elegance, plunging neckline, low-back, sparkling bead work, and whimsical chiffon! It was sexy, yet classy and fit my girly and feminine personality so much!”

Debbie Co dress inspired in a Marchesa Gown, pink peony for the wedding bouquet, year 2008, Kate Spade shoes.

Designer: Debbie Co
Shoes: Metallic sling backs from Kate Spade
Headpiece: “That flower actually came from one of the table arrangements! It totally slipped my mind that I would need something on my hair so I told our wedding coordinator, Peaches Go-Tiu, to just get something from one of the arrangements in the ballroom! This is what she picked out and it turned out so great!”
Veil: “Debbie Co also took care of my veil (with a spray of crystal beading).”

Wedding date: July 2008
Wedding Place: Church wedding at Mary the Queen Parish.
Wedding bouquet : Pink peonies

Bride: Christine Dychiao, The Philippines
Blog: Manila fashion observer

My dress: “My taste is very simple, and I wanted something classic and elegant. I also wanted a dress that I can wear even after our wedding. When I saw a white Grecian style Marchesa gown in InStyle Weddings, I knew that was THE dress. So I asked my friend/designer to make something similar for me!”

Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Jewelry: Cartier love bracelet and rings
Headpiece: From a local australian designer
Veil: Isaac Mizrahi Bridal for Target

Wedding date: March 2008
Wedding Place: Hotel, Macau Wynn Hotel Casino. The ceremony was inside the hotel as well. A small ceremony + cocktail and a chinese banquet at the same ball room to follow at night. It was quite a big banquet with 33 tables and 350+ people.
Wedding bouquet : White peony

Bride: Carla, China
Blog: Missylovely

My dress: “I was trying gowns almost every weekend. My task was to go to bridal salon to try on gowns.  I don’t know if that happens to every bride?  You have a feeling of “that’s it” or “no no” when you try it on. At the end I found the “that’s it” gown FINALLY.  My bear was being very patient with me trying on gowns.  I have to give him a big Beari Hug for this!  Even I was kinda frustrated throughout the whole process.  Both my bear and I thought this was the one.  However, I made several requests to change some of the details to my gown.  I changed the material of this gown to Ivory Satin instead of Organza and you will see the crystal beads on the satin instead.  I also ordered crystals brooches as well to put on to my gown to replace the roses instead.  I wanted my gown with this bling bling sparkling effect!  It  took approximately 3-6 months of wait plus the customization.”

Jesús Peiró dress, white roses for the wedding bouquet, year 2008 in a country house of Madrid. Massimo Dutti Peep-toes.

Designer: Jesús Peiró
Shoes: Massimo Dutti
Earrings: Carrera y Carrera

Wedding date: September 2008
Wedding Place: Church/Country state in the outskirts of Madrid
Wedding bouquet : White roses

Bride: Cristina. R., Spain

My dress: “I began looking for a one-of-a-kind dress, but after trying on several that looked like “costumes” on me, I chose to look for a dress that would simply make me look great. The earrings… I chose the earrings before I chose the groom, after falling in love with them when I saw them in 2004 in a magazine. About the shoes, I was looking for something that I could use also in other occasions after the wedding. For the dance, I used espadrilles of Cristina Castañer.”
