Juana Martin wedding dress, rosmelia for the wedding bouquet, year 2009 in a church. Dublos ornamental comb.

Designer: Juana Martín
Ornamental comb: Dublos (web)

Wedding date: August 2008
Wedding Place: Church, Cordoba – Spain.
Wedding bouquet : Rosmelia (one big rose)

Bride: Ana, Spain

My dress: “My dress was a custom design by Spanish designer Juana Martín. I wanted an original dress, not feeling like it was a costume, I wanted it to be “very mine”. The base of the dress was a silk “mikado”; the bolero jacket was made with a handcrafted lace, same as in the front part of the dress. The shoes were similar to sandals, made with the same lace as the bolero. With regard to jewelry, I was wearing the engagement ring, a simple one, and the Dublos nacre comb.“

Manuel Mota wedding dress, white roses for the wedding bouquet, year 2009 in a monastery. Luxax peep-toes. Mantillas Españolas veil y Las Coronas headband.

Designer: Manuel Mota
Shoes: Luxax (web)
Headband: Las coronas by Mary Beth McGowan (web)
Mantilla/veil: Mantillas Españolas

Wedding date: June 2009
Wedding Place: Church/Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, Toledo.
Wedding bouquet : White roses
Soprano: Reyes Moraleda (web)

Bride: Sara, Spain

My dress: “For that special day, I chose a beatiful design of Manuel Mota. The veil (mantilla) was difficult to find, because I wanted one with enough contrast with the dress. The headband was also difficult to find, we wanted the same color of the ribbons of the dress, something comfy and at the same time it had to be able to hold the veil. I bought this second hand earrings at an antique shop, they are Elizabethan. About the shoes, elegant and simple, they were perfect to give all the attention to the dress.“

Shoes: Christian Louboutin (web)

Wedding date: March, 2009
Wedding place: Beach, Luxury Resort Sandals Grande Antigua , Antigua y Barbuda (The Caribbean)
Wedding bouquet: Bouquet of ivory roses

Bride: Estefanía, Spain

My dress:“I wanted a dress that was both original and comfortable, as we were getting married in the Caribbean, second time around for both of us, and we wanted something different and intimate, just him and me. The gown was really flowy because of all the layers, but still quite lightweight. As for the jewels, besides my engagement ring (Parentesi by Bulgari) I was only wearing a pair of diamond earrings borrowed from my friend Ana. The special touch were the shoes, made of klein-blue satin crepe; they were a great choice.”

Wedding date: 2006
Wedding Place: Wedding was at Santuario de San Antonio and Manila Peninsula Hotel, both at Makati City, Philippines
Wedding bouquet: Mixture of white flowers

Bride: Kathlynn, The Philippines
Blog: All things NYC

My dress: “I’ve always wanted to have my gown custom-made.  I wanted it to be unique and very specific to my tastes.  And besides, having the gown made in Manila would be more cost efficient than buying a designer wedding gown.  I also wanted my gown to be halter and to have lace.  The rest I left with the designer.  I was so pleased with the results!  The details are amazing… the embelished lace, the two-toned gown, the silk flowers at the back and the floral lace racerback that crawls up the neck.  I definitely felt most beautiful on my wedding day!”

Wedding dress 1: Off white lace ‘kebaya’ dress. Traditional Malaysian-style hijab, headscarf with a tiara. White gold and silver accessories.
Wedding dress 2: Pastel pink lace ‘kebaya’ dress. Spanish-wrap style hijab, headscarf with gold earrings.  Gold accessories.
Wedding dress 3: Lavender ’songket’ ‘kebaya’ dress. Spanish-wrap style hijab, headscarf with a tiara. Diamond earrings. White gold and silver accessories.

Wedding date: December 2006
Wedding Place: Islamic marriage ceremony (akad) at home and reception at home and Dynasty hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
Wedding bouquet : two different bouquets. First with Pink roses and second with mixed white flowers and red fruits.

Bride: Nazihah, Malaysia
Blog: Naziehah

My dress: “I have always wanted a wedding dress that is modest to reflect my Islamic faith but still elegant and beautiful. It’s common for Malaysian’s bride to have more than 1 wedding dress. The white dress is for an ‘akad’ ceremony, which is an important Islamic ceremony normally conducted by the father of the bride. The pink and lavender dress is for reception that was held at my parent’s home and also at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The lavender ‘kebaya songket’ dress is a rare colour as traditional ’songket’ normally comes in bright or rich colour. We were so happy to find the songket in this particular colour! ”

Bride: Deisi Fritz, Brazil
Blog: Un encuentro mágico bajo los últimos rayos de sol

My dress: Yes, it was love at first sight, but before that I had walked all over Barcelona to find what I was looking for. I was not looking for a formal dress, and it wasn’t easy to find a casual dress that looked like a wedding dress. I fell in love with this one for several reasons: for its softness, for its simple elegance, and for its flexibility. it’s so much fun, you can tie the train to the side, on the front or on the back. The straps can also be worn in two different ways: tied back or open. Moreover, the name on the tag is very special: “piel de angel”, angel skin.”

My dress: “The first time I stumbled upon Cecilio Abad, I instantly fell in love with his works! Every gown he creates for his brides is unique. He is very down to earth and so approachable. So he asked me what gown would I like. I showed him some samples from his site that I liked then he sketched (take note, he used a ballpen) the gown he envisioned for me. He made me a sweetheart gown in twisted ruching chiffon top, lace bodice and japanese cocoon skirt. He added a detachable halter as accent at the request of my hubby =) He definitely made me a princess for a day!”

Dress from Mori Lee by Madeline Gardner, part of the Blu Collection, Mixture of white and yellow flowers for the bouquet, year 2009.

Designer: Mori Lee by Madeline Gardner (part of the Blu Collection)
Jewelry: Pearl necklace

Wedding date: May 2009
Wedding Place: Roseland Plantation in Ben Wheeler (TX), Wedding Venue
Wedding bouquet : Mixture of white and yellow flowers
Photographer: Casey Jay Benson

Bride: Mary-Michal, USA
Blog: Welcome to my life!

My dress: “It was beautiful with a strapless, sweetheart bodice. The A-line skirt was ruched with a side front pickup and a chapel length train. My mom actually found this dress. The first wedding dress shop we walked into, she saw it and said she wanted me to try it on. This was the first dress I tried on. When I put the veil on, my mom and I both got emotional because we knew this was the one. I tried on several other dresses, but we kept coming back to this one. I felt extremely comfortable in my wedding dress, and I am so glad that my mom saw it.

Funny enough, when my dress came in and I put it on, it wouldn’t zip. I had a slight panic attack. Then several of shop workers came over and pushed, pulled, tugged, pushed, pulled, tugged. Finally, they got it to zip. I’ll be honest, it gave me that extra motivation that I needed to lose a couple pounds before the wedding. On my wedding day, it fit like a glove. When I look at my pictures, I’m so glad I had a little extra motivation to lose a couple of pounds. Every girl wants to look her amazing on her wedding day, and I definitely feel like I looked like a princess.”

Galina Signature dress in ivory for a wedding in her in-law’s backyard

25 Chics   +1 Chic

Loading ... Loading ...

Galina signature dress (from David's bridal), Colorful Creations peep-toes, white roses bouquet, year 2008.

Designer: Galina
Shoes: Colorful Creations

Wedding date: September 2008
Wedding Place: In-law’s house, in their backyard
Wedding bouquet : White roses

Bride: Kyle L, USA
Blog: Face candy

My dress: “I found my dress very quickly. My Mom, Grandmother and I went to David’s Bridal and the 4th dress I tried on was “the one.” When I came out of the dressing room in it, we all agreed. It’s a Galina Signature dress in ivory, size 2 and it almost fit me. I was worried I would have a hard time finding a dress that fit me or flattered my body because I am thin and petite, 4′9″. Of course I had to have it altered, but it was done flawlessly at David’s Bridal. I’ve never felt more beautiful.
I bought my shoes online, for $60. They are Colorful Creations Wedding Shoe Shine with 3 1/2″ heels(I wanted to be tall enough to reach my husband to kiss him!). I did my own hair and makeup because I’m picky about that stuff. I’ll say that I never once remembered to touch-up my makeup. There was no time! My hair is short in the back, but I defined my bangs with hair cream and added lots of hairspray. (I actually had trouble getting my veil/hair clip to stay in b/c my hair is so short).”

Veluz dress with a long 3-layered train, for a wedding in Manila

28 Chics   +1 Chic

Loading ... Loading ...
Veluz dress, fuchsia pink tulips for the wedding bouquet, year 2008, Niko of Veluz shoes, Veluz headpiece and her mom's earrings.

Designer: Veluz
Shoes: Niko of Veluz
Earrings: Her mom’s
Headpiece: Veluz

Wedding date: December 2008
Wedding Place: Catholic church (Manila Cathedral – The Philippines)
Wedding bouquet : Fuchsia pink tulips with swarovski crystal, stems accented with beads and eucalyptus.

Bride: Lorna, Singapore
Blog: Introspection

My dress: “I only had one supplier in mind who will make my bridal gown. It’s Veluz. I love her gowns. I like the intricacies and her signature back accents (ribbons, flowers, etc). When you see a Veluz gown, you’ll easily identify it. She never duplicates the same exact gown. Ms. Veluz did the sketch and I like it instantly. I didn’t negotiate the rate and I didn’t even ask design revision whatsoever. I wanted to have a long train. I wanted to feel like a princess even for a day. Then the train Ms Veluz made for me was simply stunning. It was longer than I expected :D . I heard it was the first time that Ms Veluz made a 3-layered train. And the first that she put a couple’s logo on the train. During our first meeting, Jody showed Ms Veluz our logo and Ms Veluz liked it, took a copy and put it on the train. I so love it.”
